INTRO to Stay For the Credits!
Hello new friends! I want to thank you for your interest in Stay for the Credits and for following me! (I am the tired girl in green on the far left on set for a shoot. If you’re ever a PA, don’t look tired! Don’t yawn or stand around with your hands in your pockets. Look alive, people! I couldn’t help it though, that was a freaking long shoot…)
Anyhoo…tiny bit about me, I’m Elaine (Mom named me after the character in The Graduate), and I just finished my BA in film. Currently, I’m a full-time production assistant at an animation studio in Southern California.
Here’s what you can expect here:

quotes/things I’ve learned on set, at school, etc.
all around trivia on films, actors, directors, writers, DPs, other crew ( I especially like reading about how writers write..)
screenshots and quotes from films I love
other things film related

I guess what I want people to take away from all this is that film is such a huge collaborative effort from costume design to cinematography and set decorating to sound design. I know I don’t post a lot on each of those areas and the many more involved in the making of a film, but if you stay for the credits and see the many roles that people have in the filmmaking process, you’ll see the magnitude of it.  A group, maybe an insanely large group or even a small group of friends, banding together to put their vision and their story on the screen for the world to see is a great thing.
So stay for the credits, read those names scrolling up the screen as fast as you can in your head; you’re doing them a great service by acknowledging them and their work.
Sincerely,
Elaine
P.S. Since “Stay For The Credits” is a tumblr I added after making my first one, Stay For The Credits doesn’t actually follow anyone. I show up as “teaforonesvp” as a follower. Naturally, I’d love to follow all my followers, but I don’t have that time to spend on the interwebs.
