“I’m used to taking notes, each time I hear something funny, I take notes on my computer, and that’s the beginning of the process. And everytime I write a film I open that box of details…Only when the box is packed with details we start to write. That’s the reason it’s so full of detail. But some people don’t like it, they approach me in France and say, “Oh it’s too many things, we have to simplify..” but I think it’s very expensive to go to the cinema—-I have to give a lot to the audience!
