so sore...

Totally forgot what it was like to grip and carry sandbags all over the place. Being an office PA has caused all my muscles to atrophy.

God, though the 1st AC was cute. Like a cross between George McFly and Michael Biehn if that makes any sense at all, probably doesn’t, but you’d understand once you saw him. Tall and lanky with a tough-ish face that went soft at times, especially when we were shooting the scene with the dog. Wearing cargo shorts and a button-down shirt with the sleeves rolled up. His utility belt with his lens wipes and spray, the notepad with his name in Sharpie all over it. The Sharpies, the tools. The New Balances. Nice calves. Old-timey haircut. Love it. Camera crew guys make me go bonkers, I love ‘em.

When shooting began on 9 May 1962, Eugene Walter recalled Fellini taking “a little piece of brown paper tape” and sticking it near the viewfinder of the camera. Written on it was Ricordati che è un film comico (“Remember, this is a comedy”).

Tonight.
There are movies that make me think, “Hey, if they can get their film made so can I! I can write a better script than that!”
Then there are films that make me want to quit altogether, just throw in the towel, go back to school and get a “useful” degree, find a “secure” job, and forget the whole film thing because, fuck, I’ll never, ever, in a thousand lifetimes reach the standard of filmmaking that this director has set.
You and I both know where Seven Samurai belongs.

To me, the perfect film is as though it were unwinding behind your eyes, and your eyes were projecting it themselves, so that you were seeing what you wished to see. Film is like thought. It’s the closest to thought process of any art.

Walter Murch, In a Blink of an Eye (via brieflynoted)

Damn, that’s well said. (via joshruben)

The most interesting character of Public Enemies ( the guy who Giovanni Ribissi played )

Agreed. Snuck in Cat’s little sis to see the movie with us and she said afterwards, “I want to know more about the train guy.”
